We are a network partner of the Carers Trust - the leading charity for Carers in the UK which works to reach Carers and develop services across the country. We are a registered charity (no. 1092762) and a company limited by guarantee (4415685).
Carer Support Wiltshire is an independent registered charity that offers unpaid Carers free and confidential information, support, advice and time out opportunities.
Our charity provides the following core services:
INFORMATION & ADVICE: relates to all issues affecting Carers, including benefits, breaks, respite & support services, carer assessment procedures, aids & adaptation.
EMOTIONAL SUPPORT: one-to-one support on the telephone or during a home visit by a support worker. It provides the opportunity for Carers to talk through their queries and concerns.
COMMUNITY CONSULTATION: creating a unified voice in the locality to ensure Carers have an impact on decision making. We can have a strong influence on local policy, planning procedures and outcomes. Through us you can get involved with our Focus Group and have your say and input on all of these things.
Other services that are offered include:
BREAKS & TIME OUT: a chance for Carers to enjoy a bit of "me" time - our Centre offers lots of free things to Carers known to us - pampering/complementary therapies, days out, activities and events.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES: in skills often needed by Carers such as personal development, stress management and much much more.
SOCIAL GROUPS: a chance to meet other Carers in your town/area and have a time to socialise with others in a similar situation and enjoy activities and speakers that may be of interest.
VOLUNTEER SERVICES: our Centre in Wiltshire offer the opportunity for Carers to have a befriender or someone to sit with the cared for to give the Carer a chance to have a short break.
We aim to ensure that no Carer reaches crisis point before they get the support they need.
Our main office is based in Semington, nr. Trowbridge but we also have a centre at 15 New Street, Salisbury.
If you would like to receive any of these services then all you have to do is register with us online.
